In late 2018, Cruz Vermelha de Timor Leste (Timor Leste Red Cross or CVTL) held its third Media Dialogue Workshop with the aim to strengthen partnerships and share information about the work of CVTL and the Red Cross Red Crescent Movement. In the effort to build relations with journalists from distant municipalities, CVTL specifically invited journalists from Municipalities of Manatutu, Baucau, Viqueque and Lautem to attend the workshop held in Baucau City. The participants were from the Timor-Post, the Radio and Television Timor-Leste (RTTL), Radio Baucau, and Community Radio Stations from Viqueque, Los Palos, and Baucau. CVTL Branch Coordinators also attended and were able to share the activities and work that they do in each of their branches.

CVTL took the opportunity to provide basic first aid training to the participants which made activities even more meaningful as these journalists are known to work in difficult conditions and in remote areas. At the first aid training session, the participants took part in a simulation exercise where they were required to provide emergency first aid to multiple accident victims. The journalists left with a greater knowledge of CVTL and our activities as well as good relationships were forged.
