About Regional Resilience Initiative (RRI)

Supported by the Canadian Government and Canadian Red Cross, the Regional Resilience Initiative (RRI) seeks to further contribute to reducing the impact of natural disasters on vulnerable communities in Southeast Asia. The four-year initiative (2014-2018) is supporting the 11 Red Cross / Red Crescent Societies in the region. The focus is on enhancing the skills and capacities of National Societies so they can advocate more strongly at a national and regional level for the needs of communities in disaster risk reduction. This is complemented by the strengthening of regional partnerships, both within our networks and with key partners such as the ASEAN Secretariat and other bodies.
