APCSS Statement at 2nd ASEAN Conference on School Safety

Asia-Pacific Coalition for School Safety (APCSS) calls for the engagement of more partners to join ASEAN Safe School Initiative (ASSI) in South-East Asia to accelerate and upscale the initiative and make it as effective as possible. It hopes that coordination at national and regional levels will be enhanced and collaborative efforts of interested stakeholders in Asia-Pacific region will increase the number of countries that adopt and implement approaches consistent with Comprehensive School Safety Framework (CSSF). APCSS calls on governments to sign up as a Safe School Leader as part of Worldwide Initiative for Safe Schools (WISS) for a stronger and more resilient Asia-Pacific

Cambodian Red Cross Gender and Diversity Policy (in Khmer and English)

This policy (in Khmer and English) establishes the basis for the Cambodian Red Cross to ensure that the gender and diversity differences are taken into account and systematically addressed in relation to core areas as defined in CRC Strategy 2011 – 2020, such as disaster management, health and health care in the community, promotion of the movement’s fundamental principles and humanitarian values, and organizational development and resource development.

Ha Noi Recommendations for Action on Gender and Disaster Risk Reduction

The Conference concluded with the recommendations for actions which are aligned with the Sendai Framework’s four Priorities for Action. Each recommendation articulates how the actions will be operationalised. Furthermore, throughout the implementation of all of these processes there is need to consider horizontal and vertical accountability, monitoring and adequate allocation of resources. There is also need to ensure recognition is also made of diversity within women and girls (age, disability, ethnicity, migrant status, socio-economic status, sexual orientation and gender identity).
