During 22-23 January, Sunisthida Phetduang, Head of the Relief Department, and staffs of the Relief and Community Health Bureau of the Thai Red Cross Society conducted the Table Top Exercise and community evacuation drill to the community leaders as part of the activities under the “Enhance Disaster Risk Reduction Capacity in Thailand” Project. There were 50 participants from three villages in Singburi Province, namely: 1) Moo-4 Ban Pla-lhai; 2) Moo-6 Ban Tonwha; and 3) Moo-7 Ban Mha in the Prasuk sub-district, Inburi district.

The Table Top Exercise and community evacuation drill are important parts of the disaster preparedness activities to reinforce the understanding of the role and responsibilities of all parties as well as the readiness of the community. They also help test the emergency response plan. Moreover, the Table Top Exercise helps increase collaboration among community networks to deal with situations that may arise in the community.
